Meet Michael Morris

Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?

I grew up on a small farm in Wells county near Keystone, Indiana. Ag has been a huge part of my life from a very young age and has taught me many life lessons.

What are your clients asking you about today?

My clients are quite concerned about the potential of low commodity prices. To help customers visualize their risk, we can input their farm data into our proprietary software and provide a custom matrix where we layer in all of their strategies and insurance. We produce an easy-to-read grid that can help customers scenario plan.

What is your approach to customer service?

Providing impeccable customer service is so important. I strive to keep customers up-to-date with new and evolving products on the market, while also helping them with paperwork to ensure they meet deadlines. I want my customers to know they’re important so I always address questions and concerns as they arise.

How long have you been working at Silveus and what do you like best about your job?

I have been with Silveus since 2012. I appreciate the relationships that I have been able to build and nurture with my customers and their families. Learning about their operations ensures that we can develop a connected strategy that makes sense for them and one that matches their risk tolerance. I take my role as agent very seriously and have a deep respect for farmers. It’s humbling to know that even in a small way, I am doing my part to help the farmers I work with preserve their ability to continue their way of life.

What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?

Okay, are you ready for this…I am a trivia buff and enjoy crossword puzzles. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and four children.
