Deferral of Interest Charges

August 5, 2026

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) is letting policyholders take extra time to pay premium and administrative fees this summer without owing interest.

Key Points

  • Applies to CCIP, ARPI, Rainfall Index, and Whole-Farm Revenue Protection policies with a premium billing date between July 1 and September 30, 2026.
  • Approved Insurance Providers (AIPs) may grant policyholders up to an additional 60 days beyond the scheduled due date to pay premium and administrative fees.
  • Interest is waived through the earlier of the 60-day extension or the policy termination date; interest resumes only after that window closes.
  • Written Payment Agreements due in the same July 1 – September 30 window may also be extended up to 60 days without counting as a modification.
  • Starting with August monthly accounting, RMA also defers collection of unpaid producer premium and fees from AIPs and waives associated interest.

TALK TO YOUR AGENT

If your premium or administrative fees are due between July 1 and September 30, 2026, ask your agent to confirm the 60-day interest-free extension applies to your policy and, if you have a Written Payment Agreement due in that window, whether it can be extended too.
