Meet Zach Schmidt
Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?
I’m originally from La Salle, Colo. I grew up in the family dairy business until I was about 18-years-old when my parents got out of dairy and became fulltime farmers. I learned a lot just from watching them work the farm and making it their livelihood.
What are your clients asking you about today?
Understandably, clients are concerned about the immediate future of the AG economy due to slumping prices. They’re also looking to maximize the efficiency of all their investments including crop insurance. With the help of our proprietary software, I’m able to input data and have them assess their risk and make informed decisions regarding their farm.
What is your approach to customer service?
I want my clients to know that I’m in their corner. I make myself available to them and have an open-door policy. Being transparent is crucial on both sides, for a successful business partnership.
How long have you been working at Silveus and what do you like best about your job?
I was an agent with Cargill Crop Insurance agency for 8 years prior to Silveus’ acquisition of Cargill. I’m new at Silveus and I’m very excited about the organization, fellow agents and the opportunity to work here. I enjoy building relationships with customers and their families and look forward to this new chapter.
What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?
I have three boys, ages 6, 4, and 1 and they’re my entire world. We spend a lot of time discussing the merits of all the different superheroes. My favorite superhero, by far, is Superman.
