Meet Aaron Tattersall
Where is your hometown and did you grow up around farming?
I grew up in north eastern Oregon. My family has a small ranch outside of Union, Oregon. It was a great place to grow up and I have fond memories of breaking ice and feeding cattle in the winter. I also bucked bales, fixed fences and cut firewood in the summer. You learn many life skills on the ranch!
How/why did you start working with SIG?
After college I began working in the financial services industry, attaining all of the required security licenses as well as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. However, I love how working with Silveus Insurance Group has provided me the opportunity to reconnect with the agriculture industry. Since I grew up on a ranch, I feel that I can really connect with my clients and I understand their needs and wants.
What are your clients asking you about today?
With every new season client margins become thinner while their risks increase. Each year clients depend on me to help them navigate all available risk management products then provide solutions to fit their operation.
What is your approach to customer service?
My approach is to always exceed expectations. I want my customers to feel like they can count on me. At the end of the day, when my clients are successful, I am successful. My approach is to over deliver! My customers are the reason for my success and I want them to know that they are appreciated. Implementing a service process is how I stay on top of my tasks.
How long have you been working at SIG and what do you like best about your job?
I’ve been a SIG agent for more than nine years. My favorite part of my job is traveling all across the country and learning how families manage their operation with the environmental conditions they have to work with.
What are you most excited about?
Each year new risk management programs are offered and existing programs change. I really enjoy educating customers and prospects about these changes then implementing simple solutions to help them better manage risk.
What is one fun fact about yourself your co-workers don’t know?
What people may not know about me is I enjoy participating in 24 – 36 hour Adventure Races where I bike, hike and raft. It is always a great time!
